The Sims 3 Island Paradise free game is an expansion, similar to The Sims: Vacation, The Sims 2: Bon Voyage, and The Sim 3: World Adventures. Of the new features, one is the option for Sims to own houseboats. The player can dock at any unoccupied port, or anchor anywhere in the ocean. The game enables the player to have a Sim take the boat wherever he wants. Moreover, he can retain control of the other Sims in the household as he moves the boat. The functions of houseboats and other lots are alike: It allows the player to build on them if he sees fit and services will utilize speedboats and jetskis to have access of them.
The Sims 3 Island Paradise pc game also features Scuba diving, allowing Sims to dive underwater at certain points on the map, for a few in-game at a time. When diving, Sims can explore underwater caves, catch fish, find hidden treasure, as well as use a restricted set of social interactions. Beware! Sharks occasionally emerge, killing Sims. Although Sims avails a new lifetime rewards to breathe indefinitely, they can also drown into the water if they remain underwater for a long time and use up their oxygen.
